NYR – NYI – Game 1 tonight at Coliseum

By at 28 October, 2009, 6:44 am

The World Series will remove fans from both sides of the ledger for tonight.  Can’t say I blame them.  If I was a Yankee fan – I might have considered it.  But alas, my LOUSY Mets prevented that from happening… Oh about in May!
So Game 1 of the local ‘derby’ (in the UK you pronounce […]

Parenteau recalled, Battle Of New York/Tavares Await

By at 27 October, 2009, 9:32 pm

If Marian Gaborik isn’t a go tomorrow night in the first Battle Of New York, Pierre Parenteau will get the call. The 26 year-old forward impressed in camp and was one of the final cuts, being send back to Hartford where he’s ripping it up, leading the ‘A’ with eight goals while sharing the scoring […]

Lundqvist in minor fender bender

By at 27 October, 2009, 12:43 pm

Earlier this morning, Ranger goalie Henrik Lundqvist got into an accident while driving to Greenburgh for practice which he missed. Fortunately, it was only a minor fender bender with his car slipping due to rainy conditions and hitting the guard rail.
Lundqvist is okay. Hopefully, he learned a little something here because in such weather, you […]

Soccer Front….

By at 27 October, 2009, 9:24 am

Everton plays at White Hart Lane in London to face off against Tottenham Hotspur in the 4th round of the Carling Cup tournament…
What does that have to do with the Islanders?
Exactly NOTHING!
That is my other favorite team – and they need a boost – so I decided to just write a paragraph or two – […]

An Improvement

By at 27 October, 2009, 8:08 am

One of their best games of the year. Although it only gave them one point instead of two.
Effort was better – guys stepped up (take a bow, Jeff T), and Biron make some spectacular stops, and I think deserved another game tomorrow night (although I think Coach Gordon will do the flip flop).
Tamby is […]

Devils’ carnage now known

By at 27 October, 2009, 6:20 am

Apparently the initial fears of serious injuries to defenseman Paul Martin and winger Jay Pandolfo proved to be justified.  Martin has a fractured right arm and Pandolfo a seperated shoulder, with both expected to miss 4-6 weeks.  Considering the Devils’ schedule that would be anywhere from 12-18 games.  Of course that’s if the initial diagnosis […]

Ranger win could be costly

By at 26 October, 2009, 8:33 pm

They got back in the win column, posting a 5-2 home win over the Coyotes to halt a three-game losing streak. But it just could be that the win was costly with Marian Gaborik limping off Garden ice with eight minutes left. The Big Ticket- who Glen Sather rolled the dice on- was having a […]

No more trips to Quebec after tonight

By at 26 October, 2009, 5:51 pm

Schedule maker on some serious cabbage….
Two games in 4 days – yea…
Weight out again with the flu. The captain has missed 5 out of 10 games. This is not what you want out of your leader. I am not on him – but this team needs more of his presence. I […]

Prucha, Korpikoski and ‘Yotes return tonight

By at 26 October, 2009, 2:50 pm

When they drop the puck for tonight’s game, the Rangers will see a couple of familiar faces on the opposite side representing the Coyotes. Both Petr Prucha and Lauri Korpikoski play for Rangers West. While there’s still a lot of uncertainty with the troubled franchise, the team at least has surprised many with a 6-3-0 […]

Green sparks Caps past Islanders

By at 25 October, 2009, 2:49 pm

Yesterday, we spent the day over our buddy Harry’s in rainy Point Pleasant. Well, it sure poured and was quite the trip back to John’s. Anyway, we watched a lot of college football and a little puck as well catching most of the Ranger stinker to Les Habitants. Of course, it was a typical busy […]
